The Muslim Brotherhood is taking advantage of Mohamed Morsi’s death in a bid to ‘politically invest’ in his death. The banned organization had adopted a policy to mobilize its members after its loss after the June 30 Revolution by blackmailing the Egyptian state.
The death of Mohamed Morsi has brought the group back to the media as well as the regional and world public opinion. It is seeking to take advantage of the Morsi’s death to get some political gains.
In fact, the statements released by the Muslim Brotherhood’s branches worldwide have dismissed claims of separation and independence of these groups from the parent organization in Egypt.
Abbas Kabari, the Brotherhood’s spokesperson, called for a demonstration at night in front of all Egyptian embassies worldwide, urging what he described as “internationalization of the death issue”. He called for an international investigation into the circumstances of Morsi’s death.
The very same media approach was adopted by Qatar’s Al-Jazeera channel and the Brotherhood’s affiliated media outlets. Some human rights organizations also adopted the same approach to get some gains for the Brotherhood and its supporters, especially Qatar and Turkey from Morsi’s death.
Former Tunisian president Moncef Marzouki said in an interview with Al-Jazeera that Morsi was “a martyr”.
Tunisia’s Al-Nahda blamed the Egyptian authorities for the death of Morsi.
The death of Morsi exposed the true nature of these branches, which are affiliated with the international organization of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is in a big domestic political crisis after losing the municipal elections in Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir, labeled Morsi as “a martyr”, and called on the Turkish religious authorities to hold prayer for the absent.
