The Iran-backed Houthi militias tried to strengthen their presence in the districts of Hajjah governorate to stop the Yemeni army.
The Houthi militias were seeking to reinforce their forces by recruiting a number of fighters, but the Yemeni artillery and the jet-fighters of the Arab coalition foiled the Houthi attempts.
On Sunday, the media center of the Yemni army said tens of members of the Houhti militias were killed and wounded in the wake of attacks launched by the Arab coalition in the northwest of Hajjah.
The media center said the Arab coalition planes targeted the Houthi militias in the village of al-Tina. It added that the artillery of the Yemeni national army targeted the Houthi militias in a number of districts in Hajjah governorate.
The Yemeni national army’s engineering groups cleared the freed districts in Hajjah from more than 5,000 landmines and other explosive devices.
Researcher Mohammad Abbadi, an expert on Iranian affairs, said the Houthi militias are facing tough conditions on the ground. “However, they get their orders from Iran to pursue destruction as much as possible,” Abbadi told THE REFERENCE.
Abbadi said Iran’s mullah regime aims at exasperating the situation in the region via its allies such as the Houthi militias.
“The Houthi militias are intensifying the human suffering of Yemenis after they realized that they couldn’t win the battle on the ground,” he added.
