On Monday, July 29, members of the so-called “Sham Liberation Organization” were preparing for a new campaign against the cells of the elements of the Daesh terrorist organization in the Syrian north. The elements of the Liberation of the Sham went to the town of Sarqeb in Idlib province, reaching a security cell in the village of Saqrab, besieging the house where there were 3 elements.
The members of the security apparatus of the Liberation of the Sham elements called for Daesh elements to surrender, but Daesh elements refused and decided to fight to the end, and two of them detonated explosive belts that they were wearing, during the clashes.
A few minutes later, silence reigned throughout the place. Members of the Sham Liberation Group were ready to enter the house, after they entered the place where the remains were scattered. The members of the Sham Liberation Group found the body of the Daesh detonation official in Idlib, known as “Abu Duaa Al-Irani.”
This was one of the rare occasions when an Iranian element appeared in Idlib since the armed factions took control of it in 2015. People used to see Iranian fighters side by side with the Syrian army, but this time the Iranian was a terrorist in the Baghdadi Army.
Series attacks
In 2017, the spokesman for the Daesh organization Abul Hassan Muhajir called upon what he called “soldiers of the Caliphate” to carry out terrorist attacks in Iran, because of its role in the war on the organization in Syria and Iraq. On June 8 of the same year, the organization launched its first attacks inside Iran targeting the headquarters of parliament and the tomb of the leader of the Iranian revolution Khomeini.
After more than a year, the Iranians attacked a military parade of the Revolutionary Guards in the city of Ahwaz, and the Daesh news agency published a video of the perpetrators of the attack.
They pledged allegiance to the leader of the Daesh organization Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, and after the attack they broadcast a voice speech by Abi Hassan al-Muhajir calling upon what he called “The Caliphate and its Supporters” to continue attacks against the Revolutionary Guards and the Iranian army.
Men of Baghdadi in Tehran
The terrorist Daesh organization has worked on recruiting Iranian elements and recruiting new cells to work inside and outside Iran. Through a pre-taped video, as part of the so-called “Renewing Allegiance to Al-Baghdadi Campaign” in Iran, the organization announced the existence of a group called “Soldiers of the Caliphate” in Iran.
A video broadcast by the media office of the state of Khorasan showed five masked gunmen led by Abu-Jihad al-Farsi, the leader of the caliphate soldiers in Iran.
Al-Farsi said that the operations carried out by the cells will continue in the period after the collapse of the spatial caliphate, considering that this comes as a revenge for Muslims in Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Afghanistan, as he put it.
Iran benefits from intimidation
For his part, Osama al-Hitimi, an expert on Iranian affairs, said: “The Iranians belonging to Daesh include the elements of the Almalki regime and rejecters of his behavior at home, in terms of persecution of ethnic and sectarian minorities and the practice of violations against the Sunnis, or abroad in terms of Iranian blatant interference in the affairs of the surrounding countries.”
He added in a statement to the Reference that there are a number of people belonging to oppressed ethnic groups or from the People’s Mujahideen Organization opposed to the Iranian regime joined Daesh. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard and the Iranian intelligence recruited other fighters and sent them to join the organization.
Al-Hitimi pointed out that the reports revealed that many of the elements that were declared belonging to the organization had a previous preaching activity acceptable to the Iranian regime, and that some were arrested by Iranian intelligence and then released for financial guarantees, which confirms that the Iranian regime is working to penetrate the organization through these elements.
