The Qatari regime continued its sabotage project in Yemen and supported Iranian goals by stoking the flames of strife set by the Muslim Brotherhood in Abyan, Shabwa, and Aden, and trying to sow discord between Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Yemeni national forces, which are working to defeat Houthi and counter Iranian terrorism.
Joint statement
Saudi Arabia and the UAE issued a joint statement to express their rejection and condemnation of the deformation campaigns against the UAE against the background of recent events in Aden, Abyan and Shabwa.
“The governments of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have followed with great concern the political and military developments following the events that took place in the capital of the interim Yemeni Republic of Aden,” the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates said in a statement.
This comes at a time when the Yemeni government and the parties that broke out of the conflict welcomed the immediate cease-fire and the handover of civilian headquarters in Aden to the legitimate government under the supervision of coalition forces and welcomed the Kingdom’s call for dialogue in Jeddah.
“The governments of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, in line with their responsibility to support the legitimacy coalition in Yemen to save Yemen and its people from the coup of the Iranian-backed Houthi militia, affirm the continuation of all their political, military, relief and development efforts with the participation of the coalition countries that rose to support the Yemeni people,” the statement added.
Arab coalition and ceasefire
The two countries reaffirmed their keenness to maintain the Yemeni state and the interests of the Yemeni people, security, stability, independence, unity and territorial integrity under the leadership of the legitimate president of Yemen, and to counter the coup of Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militias and other terrorist organizations.
Spokesman for the Coalition for Support of Legitimacy in Yemen, Col. Turki Al-Maliki, said that the joint leadership of the coalition confirms the necessity of all parties to maintain the ceasefire and maintain calm.
Al-Maliki said that the command of the joint forces of the coalition is following the situation on the ground in the province of Shabwa, and formed a joint committee (Saudi-Emirati) that will begin work on Monday 26 August 2019 – to address the events and stabilize the ceasefire in Shabwa, Abyan, and to complete all efforts and procedures in the province of Aden.
Brothers of Yemen: Continued incitement to sedition
The Saudi-Emirati statement aimed at stabilizing Yemen, confronting the Houthi militia, and quelling the sedition of the Yemeni Rally for Reform (the Brotherhood of Yemen) was met with a Qatari move to target Saudi-Emirati efforts to unite the national forces through calls to reject this move and even to demand that government forces and the Brotherhood militias cover up under Yemeni government forces.
Jaber al-Harami, a Qatari journalist close to the Hamdain regime, tweeted on the social networking site “Tension”, inciting sedition, claiming that the Brotherhood had made gains on the ground and that the ceasefire was not in their militia’s favor, and demanding them to fight the Arab Alliance, which points to a plot.
