As part of Houthi attempts to control educational institutions in Yemen,Yehia Badr Eddin al-Houthi, Minister of Education in of the Houthi militias, has appointed 500 members of the Houthi sectarian group to work as teachers in Sanaa schools.
Although the schools have no vacancies, the Iranian-backed militia is working on appointing its loyal members at schools to promote its sectarian culture through changing the Islamic and history subjects.
The terrorist militias are considering compulsory teaching service for Yemeni secondary school graduates to sack former teachers and stop their salaries.
Researcher Abdullah Ismail, an expert on Yemeni affairs, has said the Houthi militias are an extremist and exclusivist group, which is seeking to use education to brainwash children and then recruit them to be members of the militias.
“The iHouthi militias control a number of educational areas and are seeking to change the curricula completely. The Houthis are teaching extremist sectarianism via sacking all the schoolteachers who are not loyal to the group,” Ismail told THE REFERENCE.
Ismail has urged the international community to implement the US resolutions. He called for disarmament of the Houthi militias, noting that there are no effective international stance in the face of Houthi violations and crimes against Yemeni children and schools.
