The terrorist militias, which are backed by Qatar and Turkey, are still perpetrating crimes targeting civilians and residential areas in Tripoli and pinning these crimes to the Libyan National Army (LNA). It is the very same, which was played by Qatar and Turkey in Syria. Iran is still playing the same game in Yemen.
The LNA, led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, said Sunday it had shot down a Turkish drone when it attempted to land at Tripoli’s Mitiga International Airport after targeting army positions and civilian facilities.
The LNA said in a statement that the Libyan armed forces are collecting information about Turkish drones, which terrorize the security of citizens.
The attack on the Mitiga airport coincided with a visit by the UN Secretary General’s Special Representative (SGSR), Ghassan Salame, to Cairo.
Researcher Abdel Sattar Hetita, an expert on Libyan affairs, told THE REFERENCE that the Turkish and Qatari interventions in Libya’s affairs are so clear and there should be an urgent international action in this regard.
“Salame’s visit to Cairo comes in line with efforts to find a solution to the Libyan crisis as Egypt plays a key role and there could be no solution to any problem in the Middle East without consultation and coordination with Cairo,” he said.
