Four children were killed and two others injured in a blast of a landmine that was previously planted by the Houthis in Hodeideh in western Yemen, Yemeni medical and local authorities said.
All the kids are siblings from the same family, Al Arabiya news channel quoted the sources as saying on Tuesday.
The sources expressed fear over the occurrence of similar explosions especially that heavy rains have uncovered several minefields that have were laid by the Houthi rebels in the surroundings of villages located between Ta’ez and Hodeidah provinces.
Landmines and explosives of various kinds and sizes are considered a deadly long-standing threat to the lives of millions of Yemenis and have killed and injured hundreds of them, including women and children.
