Daesh terrorist organization is on the verge of complete collapse in Libya, thanks to successive strikes by the National Army, led by Field Marshal Khalif Haftar, as part of the overall military operation, the Flood of Dignity.
Africa Command Director of Public Affairs Col. Chris Karns said four U.S. airstrikes this year had killed 43 of the terror groups’ fighters in Libya, wiping out 25% of the remaining Daesh terrorist.
In an interview with Voice of America, Karns said the U.S. wanted to make sure that threat did not grow, adding that the U.S. would continue to monitor the situation to prevent Libya from becoming a safe haven for terrorists.
series of recent airstrikes in Libya against Islamic State targets were delivered to “devastating effect,” eliminating roughly one-third of the group’s already weakened fighting force in the country, a defense official told Stars and Stripes.
International media reports have predicted that the war of terrorists after the hits against Daesh in Syria and Iraq will spread to the Sahel countries, warning of a “fertile environment” in Libya to establish the alleged state, but the Libyan army has corrupted its plans.
Earlier, the Libyan National Army said that the elements of the terrorist organization Daesh and the Chadian opposition gangs, control the city of Murzuq with the support of the Al-Wefaq government of reconciliation.
The media center, affiliated to the Libyan Army, affirmed that the pace of operations continues according to the plans and stages set by the commander in chief to liberate Tripoli and regain safety in all Libyan territory, stressing that the air force carried out intensive raids against terrorist militias.
The Libyan army succeeded in liberating the south from terrorist militias and Chadian gangs, after it launched in January “Operation Law Enforcement” and deploying its forces in most of its cities.
Abdel Sattar Heteita, an expert on Libyan affairs, has said Daesh has turned into small packs of lone wolves in Libya, operating without any commands.
He added in an interview with The Reference that Daesh is properly planning vengeance operations in North Africa and Libya.
