The National Libyan Army (LNA) continues to work to cut off Turkish supplies, especially drones, to terrorist militias.
The LNA said recently that it had destroyed a station used for preparing the drones at Mitiga Airport, east of Libyan capital Tripoli.
LNA Spokesman, Gen. Ahmed al-Mesmari said the army had attacked several stations that were used in preparing and storing the drones.
He said the army intelligence had collected information about these stations at Mitiga and Misurata airports.
Insistence
This was not the first time the LNA had attacked places for the assembly or preparation of the Turkish drones in Libya. On August 18, LNA fighter jets attacked several sites in Misurata. The attacked sites were used for the storage of Turkish drones, according to Mohamed Manfour, the head of the LNA’s air force operations’ room.
He added that the same sites were used for the storage of drone rockets.
In July this year, the LNA succeeded in destroying the main control room of Turkish drones in Tripoli. The army also shot down more than ten drones. It also said it would attack Turkish and allied troops.
Despite the presence of an arms embargo on Libya, Turkey keeps sending arms to terrorist militias backing the National Accord Government. This stokes the tension in Libya.
Libya has turned into an experimentation field for Turkish arms, a French military expert said in late September.
African affairs specialist Mohamed Sabet Hassanein said Turkish arms supplies have hindered the liberation of Tripoli from the terrorist militias controlling it.
“These supplies are also complicating the matter in the country and further destabilizing it,” he told The Reference.
