After Sudan’s decision to disband the Brotherhood’s largest arms, most notably the so-called “Charitable Organization for Supporting the Armed Forces”, the Brotherhood resorted to a new trick in order to control the joints of the state through the organization of al-Ethar which is one of the most dangerous tricks of the group in the control of non-commissioned officers under the guise of charity.
There has been a growing demand in Sudan for the dismantling of al-Ethar charity organization and the confiscation of its property in all states of Sudan for the benefit of the state treasury, such as with the charity to support the armed forces.
The al-Ethar organization exists in 11 regional states; where it has been working to spread the agenda of the Brotherhood there for more than 28 years, and the organization was receiving facilities from the former Brotherhood regime led by Omar al-Bashir, but at the present time it poses a threat to the next stage of the country, especially after the procedures which are being taken by the transitional military council, led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, by uprooting the Brotherhood from the country.
It dates back to June 1991, when it was founded by the Brotherhood, which means that only two years after the group came to power there, a military coup in a grand scheme to integrate the society and the Sudanese armed forces in favor of its agenda and the establishment of a broad base of followers.
According to Sudanese newspapers, the leaders of the organization are very carefully selected by the Muslim Brotherhood. The leaders are always out of the spotlight as well as their enormous ability to penetrate the community under the guise of charitable work and Islamic Da’wa.
The organization is currently headed by the Brotherhood, Mohammed Musa al-Bashir, and was preceded in this mission by a number of members of the Brotherhood, where most of the officers of the Popular Security Service of the Muslim Brotherhood are armed militia.
The arms of the organization penetrated in several states in Khartoum; as well as the island and Gedaref, White Nile, Blue Nile and many others, as it is active in the Darfur region of western Sudan and the cooperation of other Brotherhood organizations.
Star of charity
The organization’s leaders claim that it is working on charitable workplaces in order to be a tool for spreading the values of truth, virtue and altruism in society and contributing to social development and health.
But al-Ethar Organization exploits philanthropy and humanitarian signage to carry out the group’s agenda, starting from kindergarten to non-commissioned officers and soldiers.
The Brotherhood also entrusted the task of educating non-commissioned officers and soldiers to Al-Ethar’s important arm.
It is noteworthy that in mid-September, Al-Burhan issued a constitutional decree to dissolve the “Charitable Organization for Supporting the Armed Forces”, one of the largest arms of the Brotherhood organization in the army, and its property is transferred to the Special Fund for Social Insurance for Armed Forces Workers last September.
Empowerment and control
In a statement to the Reference, the researcher in African affairs Mohamed Ezzedine said that over the past 30 years, the former Muslim Brotherhood regime, was able to control the joints of the Sudanese state and civil service institutions through the policy of empowerment, under which thousands were transferred to the pension and replaced by elements of Brotherhood organization.
He continued that the former regime planted its aides in state institutions; which made the Transitional Council take action to uproot the Muslim Brotherhood from the country.
Sudan’s interest depends on the dissolution of the Muslim Brotherhood, revealing all its joints, its arms and extensions with the shadow militias it has formed, the front companies it has set up, the nets it has deployed at home and abroad, and the Transitional Council on its way to achieve this.
He stressed that the transitional council since the fall of the former Brotherhood regime is waging a wide campaign against the institutions of the Muslim Brotherhood, and its arms which spread the country.
