Secretary-General of the Arab Organization for Human Rights in Libya, Abdelmonem al-Hurr, has revealed the presence of what he described as a large number of crimes across Libya.
These crimes, he said, included burglaries and kidnappings.
Al-Hurr said these crimes are committed by terrorist militias operating in some parts of Libya. He called on the international community to work towards settling the crisis in Libya in a negotiated manner.
“The National Libyan Army avoids the shelling of areas populated by civilians,” al-Hurr said. “It only focuses on the places where there are militia members, which is why a decisive victory is slowly coming by.”
He revealed that the projectiles that fall inside Mitiga Airport and on some homes are fired by terrorist militias.
He said these militias especially intensify their attacks on the center of Libyan capital Tripoli.
Meanwhile, an operations room affiliated to the National Libyan Army said on November 10 that the army had succeeded in controlling a market in southern Tripoli.
Army troops, it said, continue to chase the militia members in the area and its surroundings.
“The Turkish militias strived to slow down the advance of the army, but in vain,” the room said.
The army overran a residential area in southern Tripoli on November 7, after controlling the Yarmouk Camp.
Army Spokesman, Gen. Ahmed al-Mesmari, said at a press briefing on November 6 that the terrorist militia members were withdrawing in droves from areas in the vicinity of the Libyan capital.
The army had sent reinforcements earlier to the vicinity of the capital, including ground troops which pushed towards the capital.
Libyan affairs specialist Mohamed al-Zaidi accused the militias backed by Turkey of stealing the wealth of the Libyan people.
“They steal the oil and the gold of the people,” al-Zaidi told The Reference. “They sell these things in order to get money.”
He called on the international community to take a firm action against Turkey. Turkish interference, he said, prolongs the war and the chaos in Libya.
