The regime of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is working to spread chaos in the Middle East and create pretexts for unlawfully intervening in the affairs of some countries. Ankara is planning to send military forces to Libya to support forces of Al-Wefaq government by Prime Minister Fayez el-Sarraj in the face of the advance by the Libyan army according to a illegal memorandum of understanding signed by this system with Al-Wefaq government whose quorum has ended in accordance with the Skhirat agreement, according to which it was established.
This trend ignited the anger of the Turkish opposition parties, which expressed their total rejection of this military intervention, so the CHP assured that it will oppose a draft resolution that Parliament is supposed to discuss on January 2 to allow interference in Libya, which is expected to pass the parliament to him, especially after the right-wing Nationalist Movement Party headed by “Dolet Bahçeli” announced its support for it.
The party’s deputy head, Onal Shafik Oz, said that sending Turkish forces would contribute to exacerbating the conflict in Libya, and said: “We believe that the priority should be to diplomacy, not to be part of a proxy war, what is going on is making preparations. To make the current situation worse, the minister informed us that this is not right.”
He continued, “Sending forces there in this case will widen the effects of conflicts in the region and lead to their spread. We see the draft resolution as negative. ”
The Vice-President of the Republican People’s Party considered that sending Turkish soldiers to Libya would increase tension and widen the scope of conflicts in the region, while accelerating the path of Berlin to revive the political process in Libya, stressing that Turkey should attach importance to diplomatic work in a degree to prevent the bloodshed of Muslims in Libya.
It should be noted that Turkish military intervention in Libya is linked to Ankara’s desire to impose itself with the force of arms in the eastern Mediterranean in order to seize Cypriot gas.
In other words, Turkey wants to obtain an eastern Mediterranean ally in order to sign agreements with it on the demarcation of the water borders, which gives it a legal justification from its point of view to impose its control on Cypriot and Greek gas.
