The Red Sea resort city of Sharm el Sheikh will host on Friday a meeting of the committee of 15 African finance ministers (F 15) as part Egypt’s chairmanship of the African Union (AU).
The Ministry of Finance said in a statement on Wednesday that the meeting is set to discuss the latest developments on budget and financial reforms of the AU and review implementation of financing-related decisions and the contributions of the member states.
The committee meeting, held at the level of finance ministers in cooperation with the AU Commission, is set also to discuss ways to curb dependence on international partners with the aim of achieving financial independence.
Sharm el Sheikh on Tuesday hosted the preparatory meetings of the F 15 talks.
Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait then expressed keenness on achieving the goals of the committee which had been established during the summit meetings of AU.
