The National Libyan Army launched in April a military operation, dubbed Toufan al-Karama (the Flood of Dignity) to free Libya’s capital, Tripoli, from the terrorist militias, which are used by Qatar’s satellite channel Al-Jazeera to promote rumors about the Libyan army.
On Dec. 12, the Libyan National Army, which led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, launched “the Decisive Battle” to free the country completely from the Qatari and Turkish-backed militias. Qatar and Turkey are backing Libya’s Government of National Accord, which is led by Fayez al-Sarraj.
Al-Jazeera channel has been attacking the Libyan National Army, and serving the terrorist militias and the Fayez al-Sarraj-led Government of National Accord. On Dec. 13, Al-Jazeera made an unprofessional mistake when it asked, on air, a Libyan analyst, who was supposed to be Salah al-Bakkoush (a well-known member of the Muslim Brotherhood).
By mistake, Al-Jazeera called another man, named Hamida al-Darsy, who decried the channel’s suspicious role, who accused Qatar of backing the terrorist militias. Al-Jazeera’s anchor had to hang up the phone immediately.
In fact, Qatar has provided the Fayez al-Sarraj government with full political support to confront Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar.
Libyan military analyst Mohamed Saleh al-Tarhouny said the fighting for Tripoli is an international battle, where Qatari and Turkish-backed militias are fighting the Libyan National Army.
“The Qatari support includes bags full of cash as well as some military technical assistance. Turkey provides the militias with military support, including arms, aircraft and military personnel,” al-Tarhouny told THE REFERENCE.
Al-Tarhouny added that despite the Qatari and Turkish support to the militias, the Libyan National Army “is capable of liberating the capital from the terrorists.
