The Islamophobia Observatory rebukes growing racist practices against Muslims in the West

The Islamophobia Observatory of the Egyptian Ifta condemned the violent assault, ill-treatment and racial discrimination suffered by many Muslim students, as a Muslim student was severely beaten and attempted to suffocate by the veil she was wearing, by a British woman inside a local bus when she was returning from Her school, and the observatory stated that this incident is not the first of its kind.

The incident broke out when a man began shouting at the sisters’ friend and calling her the n-word, claimed the schoolgirl. Footage capturing the horrific moment showed a woman pummeling the schoolgirl to the floor after she defended her friend. The teenager was pinned to the floor and punched in the head as a crowd of onlookers try to intervene but were met with threats.

Police were called the the scene, where they arrested a 40-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man on suspicion of aggravated assault and public disorder offences.

The Observatory had indicated in a previous statement to the assault on a student inside her high school in California, and that represents the threat that the right poses to the freedom of individuals within society, as well as the transmission of intellectual toxins targeting Muslims in general and immigrants alike.

In its statement, the Observatory stressed that such incidents threaten the social fabric within the states and aim at its negative effects on the feeling of identity and the nature of Muslims’ practice of their lives nature within society, through the expression of the Muslim student about her fear and anger from the unjustified aggression on her, and her unwillingness to go to school again After what happened with her out of any guilt she committed to infringe this brutality with her.

The Observatory warned at the end of its statement of the growth of racist practices and discrimination against Muslim students to spread terror within them, and obstruct their roles within society, and the Observatory called for the need to address these crimes in a strong and deterrent way to stop the extension of Islamophobia attacks on Muslim students and to preserve the social fabric of Western peoples in general.
