Since the U.S. Pentagon confirmed it had launched an airstrike that killed top Iranian general Qassem Soleimani, the terrorist Houthi militia in Yemen, one of Tehran’s arms in the region, has been vowing revenge against Washington.
The Houthis vowed retaliation against the US and demanded Tehran to respond decisively and quickly through targeting US bases in the region.
The Iran-affiliated militia also called the residents of Sanaa and Saada to mobilize and demonstrate in support to Iran.
The terrorist militia also threatened whoever refuses to participate in the demonstrations that will be staged to support Iran and call for retaliation for Soleimani’s killin.
Yemeni activists, on the other hand, rejected calls to demonstrate in solidarity with Tehran, and called upon citizens to protest against the devious and criminal acts of the Houthis.
The Houthis used to consider Soleimani as their biggest supporters who will aid them to occupy all of Yemen, as he was the one who sent them Iranian experts to support them and provide them with the necessary means and arms to serve Iran’s interests.
The Houthi militia is one of the arms that Iran may use to confront Washington, by carrying out terrorist acts against regional and international interests, in the Bab al-Mandab and the Red Sea, or targeting neighboring countries, as it did before, when Iran asked the Houthis to target Aramco’s oil facilities in Saudi Arabia.
Tehran also threatens the navigation of international oil tankers, as the terrorist group occupies the port of Hodeidah and part of the coastal city, which Iran uses as an advanced operations room to hit international shipping in the Red Sea and the Strait of Bab al-Mandab.
In this context, Yemeni political analyst Mahmoud Al-Taher told The Reference in an interview that demands by the Houthis to demonstrate are racist calls that are based on a terrorist sectarian ideology.
He further pointed out that the Houthis seek to claim through these protests that the Yemeni people are following their orders, but in reality, the terrorist militia imprisons, kills or displaces whoever refuses its demands.
He also added that this is deemed a race with other Iranian arms in the region, to prove loyalty to the Mullahs of Tehran, the matter which only proves that Houthis are nothing but an Iranian tool to destabilize the Middle East, especially the Arab Gulf.
Al-Taher also said the Houthis have many options to retaliate for Soleimani’s killing, including the execution of suicide operations, launching missile attacks against US personnel and interests in the region, and disrupting maritime navigation.
“The Houthis are ready to respond to the killing of Soleimani, by adopting any attack that Iran might launch against countries in the Arabian Peninsula soon,” Al-Taher added.
