In what is considered a maneuver by the Tunisian Renaissance Movement – the Brotherhood’s arm in the country, to pressure the Prime Minister-designate Elias Al-Fakhfakh to give the movement more concessions, the movement’s spokesman, Imad Khamiri, confirmed on February 11 that the movement expressed the possibility of supporting the Fakhfakh government without participating in it.
That takes place if the dialogue is actually stalled and the optimal options for Ennahda represented in the government of a broad “political belt” in which the movement represents the size of its representation in the Parliament are not reached, according to his description.
In a statement to Tunisian Radio Mosaique, Khamiri explained that he had informed Al-Fakhfakh that the “Renaissance” was keen on the condition of the broad political belt and considered it one of the conditions for the success of the government, adding that the national unity government is the best type of government, and it can respond to the nature of the next stage and its economic, social and development challenges.
He also stressed the need to be representative of the movement in the government the size of its representation in Parliament.
The Brotherhood movement is trying in various ways to pressure “Elias Al-Fakhfakh” for its own benefit, as it hinted that it is ready for all possibilities, including early parliamentary elections.
The Shura Council meeting for Al-Nahdha’s consultation on the issue of consultations that Al-Fakhfakh embarked on said that it was prepared for all possibilities, including running the early electoral merit in an attempt to get out of the impasse in which it occurred.
Ennahda strives to control the Tunisian scene again, especially after the formation of the government came out of its hands.
After that, it insisted on a national unity government involving Nabil Karoui’s Tunisian Heart Party.
According to the British newspaper “Telegraph”, the Ennahda movement’s adherence to the Heart of Tunisia party will not last long if the movement guarantees what it plans from the beginning, which is obtaining the most possible of ministries and ensuring the ministers of justice and interior and excluding the Democratic Current Party, especially from the ministries that enable it to open files that threaten movement.
The newspaper added that Ennahda keeps the Heart of Tunisia Party in the waiting room if any coalition party retracts from participating in the government.
For his part, Tunisian journalist Mohamed Kreishan sees in an article that the Ennahda movement has exhausted the Tunisian people with its many fluctuations and excessive appetite, continuing that it practically aborted the aspirations of many in a real democratic life, because it did not set its sights except its safety and its benefit from the government organs away from anything related to people’s real interests.
For his part, Tunisian political analyst, Belhassen Yahyaoui, said that it has become difficult to talk about Tunisian political affairs, because the matter transcends party interests and political groups, because the leader of the Ennahda Movement, Rashid Ghannouchi, quickly took Tunisian President Qais Saeed as his opponent.
Al-Yahyawi continued in press statements that “Elias Al-Fakhfakh” fell prey to the Renaissance movement, when the movement stepped up the pace of its rhetoric, threatening that this government would inevitably fall if the Heat of Tunisia party was not involved, which means that it opens the doors to early election funds, which is something very difficult at this point.
