Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is sending Syrian armed militias to Libya. These mercenaries signed six-month contracts with Libya’s Government of National Accord in Tripoli for $2,000 per month, and a Turkish promise to grant these mercenaries citizenship.
The Libyan National Army spokesman, Ahmed al-Mesmari, has revealed one of those mercenaries, Mohamed Kamal, aka Abu al-Furqan.
Abu al-Furqan is a Turkish officer named the Turkish Qasem Soleimani, like the commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, who was killed by a US airstrike in Baghdad in January.
In 2012, Abu al-Furqan was sent to Syria to become a liaison between the leaders of the terrorist Syrian groups and the head of the Turkish intelligence service. Abu al-Furqan was in charge of the Turkish plan to empower the Muslim Brotherhood and al-Qaeda in Syria.
He was fully in charge of the terrorist groups as of 2015. He submitted reports on the armed militias to the Turkish intelligence services.
Al-Mesmari said that Abu al-Furqan is a hidden military man commissioned by the Turkish president. He noted that Erdogan holds secret meetings with Abu al-Furqan to discuss matters relating to terrorist groups in Syria and Libya.
Africa Gate News portal said that Abu al-Furqan’s operations had begun in July 2019 before the Fayez al-Sarraj-led government signed an agreement with Turkey in November 2019. These terrorist brigades, which are based in the west of Libya, get military supplies from Tripoli Port, through which Turkey sends arms, drones, trucks, and soldiers to Fayez al-Sarraj-led government.
