The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights revealed the total number of deaths among the Syrian mercenaries, who have been present in Libya, since their participation in the battles of Tripoli, confirming – by numbers – that the number of casualties among them has so far reached 117, from the so-called factions of the Brigade of Al-Mu’tasim and the Sultan Murad Brigade and Liwa North Falcons, Hamzas and Suleiman Shah.
The observatory said that the dead were killed during clashes on the axes of Salahuddin neighborhood, south of Tripoli, and the Ramla axis near Tripoli airport, in addition to the axis of the Hadaba project.
In the same context, the Observatory confirmed that about 150 terrorist elements holding secret nationality among those who went to Libya, fled to Europe with confirmed information about their increasing numbers during the coming period in light of the fierce battles they faced.
The observatory said that part of the mercenaries who arrived in Libya left the weapons as soon as they arrived in Libya to escape to Italy, while some went to Algeria to escape from it to southern Europe.
While the observatory determined the fate of the Syrian militants in Libya between killing or fleeing to Europe, it was not revealed whether the dead were killed in the battles with the Libyan army or in clashes with the Libyan factions disturbed by the presence of the Syrian mercenaries, as differences occurred recently among the factions on the background of the existence of Syrians and some Tripoli factions have threatened to target Syrian mercenaries.
This came in response to a statement by Minister of the Interior of Al-Wefaq Fathi Pashaga, who attacked Tripoli militias, accused of controlling the intelligence service in the capital and breaking the law.
Syria’s mercenaries and Erdogan’s deficit
The Libyan politician, Abdel Moneim El-Yassir, believes that since their arrival in Libya, the Syrian mercenaries are receiving a lesson, whether by the Libyan army or the Libyan militias.
He explained that the conditions are not in their favor, stressing that they have not influenced since their arrival in Mashhad, or that they hinder the army’s progress towards Tripoli.
He pointed out that Turkey had pushed them because it was unable to send an official military force from the Libyan army, noting that it had pushed these people to avoid direct clashes and the risk of its army.
He considered that the paper of the Syrian mercenaries proves its failure gradually, explaining that it takes months to end any Syrian militia presence in Libya.
He expected that the fate of these people would be either killing by the Libyan army, or Tripoli militias, or fleeing to other hotbeds of tension.
Al-Wefaq government is facing a crisis in paying the salaries of Syrian mercenaries, since the Libyan tribes decided to stop producing oil whose money was returned to the government.
