While the whole world is racing against time to combat the coronavirus through tough measures for reducing crowds and gatherings, Libya’s former Grand Mufti Sheikh Sadiq Al-Ghariani, based in Turkey, has said the coronavirus is no threat to Libyans, describing a probable defeat of the Government of National Accord, which is led by Fayez al-Sarraj in Tripoli, by the Libyan National Army is “more dangerous”.
Al-Ghariani has called on the terrorist militias to continue their operations paying no attention to the disease, claiming that coronavirus was faked by the Libyan National Army.
Commenting on the fatwa, Libyan politician Abdel Moneim Al-Yasseer said that Al-Ghariani is irresponsible and he has issued many fatwas threatening the Libyan national security, noting that this fatwa is “the most dangerous”.
“This fatwa concerns a disease that Europe itself cannot control,” Al-Yasseer said, noting that Al-Ghariani risks the lives of Libyan people for the best interests of Turkish and Qatari agendas.
Al-Yasseer stated that Al-Ghariani was only interested in keeping Tripoli controlled by the Government of National Accord as the loss of the capital would be a blow to the militias. “Therefore, he seeks to keep the militias fighting at the expense of the infection spread,” he said, describing the former mufti as a man who sells his country for money.
Libya is going through a critical circumstance as the Libyan people are concerned that any possible cases of coronavirus would be a major crisis as there are mercenaries of many nationalities in Libya.
