The Palestinian issue is a cornerstone of the foreign policy of the United Arab Emirates which has been working hard to help the Palestinians retain their freedom and end the Israeli occupation of their land.
The UAE has also been working hard to reduce the suffering of the Palestinian people and supply them with their basic needs.
It also worked to offer the necessary backing to the Palestinian leadership.
Honorable history
The Palestinian issue has been at the center of the work of UAE leaders since the founding of the UAE.
Those closely following developments in the Palestinian territories can easily notice that the UAE was always the first country to hurry up to offer support to the Palestinians and stand by them in a strong and effective manner.
The UAE and Israel reached an agreement on August 13 that can reshape the map of the region.
The two countries agreed to fully normalize relations in return for suspending Israel’s plan to annex some parts of the occupied West Bank.
The planned annexation would have devastated the Palestinians’ aspiration to found their own independent state.
Following a phone conversation with Israeli and Emirati leaders, U.S. President Donald Trump said the aforementioned deal between the two countries would open the door for more cooperation in the fields of investment, tourism, security, technology, energy and other fields.
The two countries will also operate direct flights between them, open embassies and exchange trade representatives for the first time.
If implemented, the Israel-UAE deal will suspend the annexation plan formulated by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to The New York Times.
Trump said the deal is a good step on the road of creating a Middle East that is more peaceful, prosperous and secure.
