Opposition unveils new nuclear site in Iran

The Iranian opposition has unveiled the presence of a secret nuclear facility in Iran.

It said it would hold a press briefing soon to announce details about the facility.

The Iranian opposition noted that Iran uses the facility in the making of nuclear bombs.

Statement

The opposition said the National Council of Resistance of Iran-US Representative Office would hold a press conference to unveil facts about what it described as a new nuclear program in Iran.

It added that the office would present satellite images of the facility as well as of the Iranian officials responsible for the program.

The opposition said it had received “worrying” information about the making of a nuclear bomb in Iran by the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran.

Secret map

The National Council of Resistance of Iran-US Representative Office has been revealing information about Iran’s secret nuclear sites for two decades now.

The office also publishes maps of the centers that manage Iran’s nuclear arms program, including uranium-enrichment sites in the Iranian city of Natanz.

In late September this year, the International Atomic Energy Agency said it had inspected a second site suspected to have witnessed nuclear activities in Iran in the past.

Two sites

The agency added in its quarterly report that Iranian authorities had allowed its inspectors to inspect one of two sites they approved following a long suspension of inspection activities.

On September 4, the agency said its inspectors had inspected the first site that had been at the center of contention with Iran previously.

This came only days after Saudi Arabia’s envoy to the United Nations, Abdullah al-Muallami, called for the presence of measures that prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.

Muallami said his country was deeply concerned about Iran’s failure to abide by its commitments as far as its nuclear program was concerned.
