Cyberspace militias affiliated to Iran has stepped up their campaign to sabotage demonstrations by Iraqis against the control imposed on Iraq by sectarian militias backed by Tehran.
Electronic armies
Tehran has formed electronic armies to serve its agenda in Iraq. It has specified a large budget for these armies which run social media accounts and launch several channels on telegram.
Militias
There are two command centers for the Iranian electronic militias in Baghdad. Commanding the militias are journalists known for their loyalty to Tehran.
These journalists receive hundreds of dollars in salaries for working within the Iranian electronic militias.
Opponents
The Iranian electronic militias mainly target figures and media opposed to Iran.
Most of the accounts of the Iranian electronic army use the photo of the late Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani as a profile photo.
Most of the accounts are also new. Some of them are one-year-old, which proves that they have appeared after the eruption of anti-Iran protests in Iraq.
According to information available, a journalist affiliated to the Lebanese Hezbollah movement founded these electronic militias.
The activity of the militias increases whenever the Iranian Revolutionary guard Corpse finds itself threatened.
Pro-Iran hackers also attack the accounts of Iraqi activists, according to the opposition site, Iran Wire.
It said pro-Iran hackers plan cyber attacks on those opposing Iranian policies in Iraq.
