Iran’s nuclear authorities have reported an overnight “incident” at the country’s Natanz nuclear site.
Parts of the facility experienced a problem with their electricity supply, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) said on Sunday.
The incident has not caused any injuries and has not led to leaks of any radioactive material, a spokesperson said.
Newly produced Iranian centrifuges have been installed at Natanz, which allow uranium enrichment of up to 20 per cent.
Iran’s nuclear programme is the subject of heated international debate amid negotiations over how to resurrect a faltering 2015 nuclear deal designed to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
Last summer there was a large explosion at a warehouse in the same facility. The cause of that explosion remains unclear.
