The scene of violence has returned again in France following a terrorist operation targeting a police station in the city of Rambouillet on the outskirts of Paris on Friday, April 23, in which a policewoman was killed.
French newspapers revealed the identity of the perpetrator of the knife stabbing as Jamal J., who was killed after being shot by police. Jamal, 36, came to France in 2009 from the state of Sousse in eastern Tunisia. and happened in a year. In 2019, he obtained an exceptional residence permit, followed by a residency card in December 2020, valid until December 2021. He worked as a delivery driver and lived in a house in Rambouillet.
Accusations of impotence for Macron
This operation comes after a bloody autumn that France has experienced following the impact of three terrorist operations, which angered the French opposition. Calls were launched accusing French President Emmanuel Macron of impotence in the face of extremism and the inability to put an end to terrorist operations.
The incident made headlines in French newspapers, which indicated that the perpetrator had interaction and comments on social media, which would increase Islamophobia, as well as being a member of the campaign “Respect Muhammad, the Prophet of God”.
The terrorist operations that ISIS adopted during the month of Ramadan in 2020 were limited to 380 terrorist attacks, compared to 180 attacks during the other months of the same year, especially since the rise of the organization represented a major turning point in the indicators of terrorism in general and the indicator of terrorist operations during Ramadan in particular.
France’s counterterrorism activities
The French government has made many efforts to confront the dangers arising from waves of terrorism and to improve the security situation within French society. The government is working on preparing a new text on terrorism and intelligence, regarding the development of new measures and procedures for following up that are binding on those accused of terrorist cases or suspected of extremism upon their release from prison. Upon a suspected prisoner’s release, they will be subject to obligations of supervision or care by specialists in rehabilitation and behavioral follow-up, in accordance with critical restrictions for reintegration and the peaceful acquisition of citizenship values.
Crimes against humanity
As for the nature of the intellectual doctrine of these extremist groups, the Observatory of Takfiri Fatwas and Militant Opinions of Egypt’s Dar al-Iftaa confirmed that the holy month of Ramadan has repeatedly revealed the truth of that belief, the extent of the falsehood of its calls, and the extent of its commission of many crimes against Muslims in particular and humanity in general.
The aim of terrorist and takfirist groups was to disturb the peace of the holy month and to exploit the preoccupation of Muslims with performing the obligatory fasting and rituals of Ramadan by relying on fatwas of takfirism and prohibition, which are increasingly accelerated during the month to mislead the general population of Muslims from performing rituals, or by issuing fatwas that it is permissible to unlawfully shed blood and plunder money and wealth, which are all fatwas that contradict the truth of the tolerant purposes of Islamic law.
These groups based their terrorist operations during the holy month of Ramadan on a set of historical invasions and battles that took place during the holy month, wrongly detracting from reading the historical and social contexts in which those historical battles took place.
