Few days left before we pay farewell to 2017 with all its wounds, bad and happy memoirs.. we prepare ourselves to receive a new year which God only knows what it would carry ..We welcome the new guest amid world’s celebration of Christmas when Jesus came as a prophet ..This gives a reason for optimism with a year full of joy , love and peace..
Seizing this opportunity we present our Catholics brothers worldwide, together with orthodox Copts in Egypt the best regards. We remember their sacrifices as an integral part of our homeland. Both Copts and Muslims stood lofty during Egypt’s two revolutions in January and June defending their country as they were filled with dreams of grandfathers and memoirs. Such a land upon which we loved, defended, embraced and revolted to save its dignity deserves much…
Egyptian Copts paid a blood tax for their country.Either as soldiers on borders defending Egypt’s safety and security or as peaceful citizens stroll in Cairo streets..They could also be seen as devout prayers in churches begging almighty God to make peace prevail in their country in which their blood was mixed with their Muslim brothers..
We hope that the New Year would see less struggles and bloodshed to achieve the message of Jesus after a dull year with all its painful events.
Actually, the last year witnessed regrettable events like the disorder in Yemen, the killing of former president Ali Abdullah Saleh by the Houthi militia supported from Qatar and Iran. The Houthis aim at disintegrate Yemen and tear out its natural structure. 2017 landmark was the US president Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the Israeli capital. The decision triggered lashes of fury worldwide as it violates all the international laws and UN decisions. This lousy decision gains the denial of all the free world and civilized countries. The EU denounces the decision as well as most world nations. Demonstrations swept the ME as well as the flare-up stand in the occupied Palestinian territories.
All such moves stress the fact of Jerusalem city is the cradle of the three divine religions..
The SC resolution n.478 in 1980 is regarded as one of the most international denials for the successive Israeli to annex the east Jerusalem… The same resolution also calls upon all member states to withdraw its diplomatic corpses from the holy city..
Though 2017 saw the defeat and withdrawal of ISIS from Iraq ,yet the terrorist militia still has its unseen pockets in Syria and poses a threat in Libya.
Unfortunately, certain countries seek with all its powers to set a fire in the region and disintegrate it..These countries have a foothold In Europe under the mask of charity organizations or research centers..
Terrorism now poses the most dangerous threat to peace and world security which led the UN to stress the need to put those who finance, support or organize terrorism to tribunal..In this regard, the UN adopted re.no 291-71 to establish the UN bureau to combat terrorism.
In 2018 the world needs a firm stand to confront terrorism and finalize the military and media support to terrorists who enjoy shelter from Turkey, Iran, and Qatar… Terrorism is a huge danger for all humankind..So it needs a unified effort to nib it in the bud…
Finally, we look forward to hold the international anti-terrorism conference as soon as possible. The hope of issuing every possible UN decision is a must together with a definite meaning of this horrible phenomenon that threatens the extinction of all humankind..
Happy new year dear readers everywhere..
