Antiquities Minister Khaled el Anani announced that Ramses II statue was successfully transferred to its new place in the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).
The giant statue will be the first to be seen by visitors when entering the grand museum’s main hall that will be partially opened by the end of 2018.
The process of transferring the statue took about an hour. It costs 13.6 million pounds.
The military music was played to celebrate the successful arrival of the statue to its new place in the museum.
The ceremony of transferring the giant statue were attended by a number of presidential advisors, ministers, lawmakers, Arab and foreign ambassadors and senior state officials. (MENA)
