President Abdel Fattah El Sisi expressed his appreciation to Prime Minister Sherif Ismail for all the good work he did during his tenure as petroleum minister, noting that Ismail was the first to bring good news about the Zohr gas field project.
“Ismail has always been up to his responsibilities and he endured so much at times of difficulty,” Sisi said during the inauguration ceremony of the deep-water gas field.
The president also thanked Eni company, the incumbent petroleum minister, Tareq el Molla, the petroleum sector and the whole state bodies that contributed to work in the project to meet the set timeline.
Meanwhile, Sisi revealed that it cost the state budget $13 billion (about EGP 260 billion) to get the Zohr field project up and running in a year and a half rather than 6-7 years. (MENA)
