Arab foreign ministers started Thursday a meeting at the Arab League HQ to discuss an Arab action in response to the US decision recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
The meeting is being held under the presidency of Djibouti Foreign Minister Mahmoud Ali Youssouf and attended by Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit.
In statements, Assistant AL Secretary General Hosam Zaki said the meeting will follow up the outcome of a recent meeting on the same issue, noting that Jerusalem is the most important point in a final resettlement process between the Palestinians and Israelis.
Asked if an emergency Arab summit would be held, Zaki said it would be difficult to hold such a summit now, especially that the ordinary summit would be held soon.
Arabs stand united in support of the Palestinian people, he reiterated.
The recent Arab foreign ministerial meeting had been held on December 9th. (MENA)
