Bid to smuggle drugs, arms foiled on Egypt’s western border

A four wheel drive car loaded with 375 kilograms of Hashish (cannabis) and 730,000 drug bills has been seized on Egypt’s western border.

Three rifles and ammunition were also found in the car, said the army’s spokesman Tamer Refaei in a press release.

Four persons charged in different cases and 47 would-be infiltrators were arrested, he added.

The busts were part of efforts to combat criminals and smugglers in the area, he noted.(MENA)
