The National Election Authority (NEA) has urged citizens who won’t be able to cast their votes in their documented places of residence to hurry up and register their new temporary addresses, where they will be during the time of the presidential polls slated for March 26-28.
Those residents are kindly asked to refer to their nearest court of first instance or notary office to register their temporary addresses, NEA chairman Lasheen Ibrahim said Monday.
The process is free of charge, Ibrahim said, adding that only the ID or passport is required to change the voting place.
Ibrahim made it clear that specialized committees will be receiving applications from citizens all days of the week, including official holidays, from 9.00 a.m till 6.00 p.m.
He urged citizens to benefit from this eased measure meant to guarantee their constitutional right to elect candidates. (MENA)
