Undersecretary of the Sudanese Ministry of Industry Bilal Youssef called for boosting inter-Arab cooperation in face of current economic and social challenges.
This came during a meeting of the economic committee of the Arab League Economic and Social Council on Monday to prepare for the council’s 101st regular session.
General Director of the Arab and Islamic Relations Department of the Saudi Ministry of Finance Hussein el Shawish reviewed the accomplishments achieved during the 100th session of the council which was chaired by Saudi Arabia, topped by the inclusion of Jordan in the joint Arab economic cooperation treaty.
Shawish said that economic challenges faced by the Arab world need more inter-Arab cooperation.
Assistant Secretary General of the Arab League for Economic Affairs Kamal Hassan Ali asserted the importance of the coming session in light of the current economic difficulties and challenges in the Arab world.
One of the files included in the agenda of the 101st session is the one addressing the economic and social burdens of hosting Syrian refugees in Jordan, he said. (MENA)
