Head of the Middle East Studies Center in Paris and Editor-in-Chief of al-Bawaba News, Abdel Rehim Ali, said today that Qatar presents a lot of funding to Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated organizations in Europe.
Speaking at a seminar at the French Press Club in French capital Paris, Ali added that one of the goals the Brotherhood seeks to achieve in Europe is to influence politicians, academics and cultural figures in the continent.
Qatar has been especially interested in the wellbeing of the Brotherhood in Europe, Ali said.
He noted that the June 30, 2013 revolution in Egypt sabotaged conspiracies aiming at dividing the Arab region along religious, sectarian and ethnic lines.
The revolution, he added, expressed the will of the people and was backed by the Egyptian army.
