The New York Times works to distort Egypt’s image, says Ali

CAIRO – Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Board and Editor-in-Chief of al-Bawaba News Abdelrahim Ali said Sunday that The New York Times publishes hundreds of dubious reports about many countries, not just Egypt.

The newspaper, he said, has its own agenda and it cannot be trusted.

Ali added at a debate with some western journalists on private TV al-Kahira Wal Nas that the American newspaper tries to distort Egypt’s image by claiming that Israel launches airstrikes against terrorists in Sinai.

He said Egypt does not cooperate with Israel in the fight against terrorism in Sinai.
