US President Donald Trump declared on Tuesday that he was pulling out of the Iran nuclear deal, “This was a horrible one-sided deal that should have never, ever been made,” Mr. Trump said.
He added during a televised speech that “It didn’t bring calm, it didn’t bring peace, and it never will.”
Trump said “the Iranian regime is fueling conflicts in the Middle East and supporting terrorist organizations, as well as financing the chaos and attacking our soldiers”.
The US president stressed the application of the toughest sanctions on Iran, saying that Iran’s malicious behavior in the Middle East must be stopped.
“Our sanctions may also include other countries with Iran, and we have evidence that Iran’s promises were false,” he said.
From his side the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: “Israel will prevent the Iranian presence in Syria.”
Trump contacted with senior members of Congress on Tuesday and informed them that he had decided to withdraw from Iran’s nuclear deal but would not reinstate sanctions for up to six months.
The US president wrote on Twitter that he would announce his position on the controversial agreement, Tuesday, 2 pm (1800 GMT).
Tramp has repeatedly threatened to withdraw from an agreement to ease sanctions on Iran in return for limiting its ability to enrich uranium unless the signatories agree to “fix its flaws.”
