The Taliban group announced that it has decided to declared ceasefire during the three days of Eid-ul-Fitr during which no attack will be carried out on Afghan forces, Khaama Press reported on Saturday.
However, the Taliban said it will in respond to any aggression during the period of the ceasefire.
In the meantime, Taliban said the foreign forces are exempted from the ceasefire, emphasizing that the group will maintain attacks on foreign troops across the country.
This comes as Afghan President Ghani on Thursday announced a ceasefire with the Taliban, saying no operations will be carried out against the fighters of the group starting from 27th of Ramadan to 5th day of Eid.
President Ghani had also hoped that the Taliban group would observe the ceasefire.
