A leader of Daesh terrorist group, called Yasir Khurasani, was killed along with his five comrades in an airstrike in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan, Khaama Press news agency reported on Thursday.
The 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan Military in the East said the US forces carried out airstrikes using unmanned aerial vehicles targeting Daesh hideouts in Wazir Tangi area of Khogyani district.
The statement added that the airstrikes destroyed also a Dshk heavy machine gun.
The Afghan forces defused two improvised explosive devices during separate operations conducted in Mohmandara and Rodat districts, the 203rd Silab Corps added.
The anti-government terrorist groups including Daesh loyalists have not commented on the report so far.
