On the northern sides of the Latin American continent, there is a small country with small population called Suriname. It is the smallest country on the continent, it shares the borders with Brazil. It was discovered by the Spanish at the end of the fifteenth century. It’s population reaches 500 thousand people, 20% of them belong to Islam and its current capital is Paramaribo.
Although Suriname is one of the submerged countries on the map, Daesh organization found its temptations in it, and worked to extend its malignant arm to its depth. The country, which 20% of its population are Muslims, revealed in July 2017 a plan for Daesh to target its territory.
Last week witnessed the trial of two brothers on charges of plotting to kill the US ambassador in the country and they are belonging to Daesh.
Intelligence sources have confirmed the existence of a cell in the country led by two brothers from the Netherlands who have returned to live in their ancestral land. They are Raul, 35, and Nasser, 31, and they planned to assassinate US ambassador Edwin Nolan, who took office in December 2015.
In addition, the security information indicated that Raul and Nasser were involved in recruiting some of the Surinamese elements and sending them to Syria to join a Daesh. They also had close ties to the organization’s leadership, as evidenced by letters and correspondence between the two parties. In addition, the brothers wanted to travel to Syria after the assassination of the ambassador.
However, on July 23, 2017, they were arrested. Since then, the organization has threatened to carry out terrorist attacks against a number of educational institutions if the group’s members are not released.
Suriname is a republican state on the Atlantic coast. It was a Dutch colony since 1667 after a trade-off between the United Kingdom and the Netherlands on that smaller spot of South America.
Suriname negotiated alot to gain its full independence from the Netherlands on November 25, 1975, but it did not enjoy political stability for a long time.
As usual, Hezbollah – the military militia of Iran – will not leave the Surinamese theater empty without a role to play in the chaos, especially with an environment conducive to corruption, as well as the party’s wide spread within Latin America, exploiting organized crime and drug trafficking.
But the relationship between Hezbollah and Suriname is somewhat different. Other countries cooperate with the organization through various channels of secrecy, slander and irresponsibility. In the case of Suriname, cooperation was at the command level.
Dinu, the son of President Boutresi during his visit to the United States. During the trial, Dinu confessed to his relations with the Lebanese Hezbollah leadership and, through his leadership from February to August 2013, contributed to the Counter-Terrorism Unit (Suriname) Hezbollah in the country will be stationed in South America.
In addition, the security reports provided a number of evidence that the son of the president was involved in the drug trade with the Mexican gangs. As well as his frequent meetings with Hezbollah elements in Greece, which is experiencing a suspicious Iranian proliferation.
As a result, Dino Desi Boutersei was tried in March 2015 for 16 years in prison for collaborating with Hezbollah, a terrorist group of the United States.
