Egyptian envoy to the United Nations here Ambassador Alaa Youssef on Wednesday said that the Libyan crisis is passing through a very critical phase.
Addressing a Human Rights Council meeting, he added that this state of affairs is affecting human rights there and causing apprehension especially in light of the presence of terrorist movements there and their role in undermining all efforts for enhancing human rights in Libya.
He further noted that Egypt is exerting all efforts, in cooperation with the UN envoy and international partners concerned, for reaching a settlement to the Libyan crisis.
Egypt believes that enhancing and protecting human rights is linked with the seriousness of the international community in supporting the Libyan State institutions for ending the phenomenon of armed militias who are responsible for the chaos and human rights violations in Libya, he added.
