The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) has always put their own interests first, especially in Yemen.
Media outlets affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood have launched a campaign to criticize the Saudi and UAE military presence in the Yemeni scene, while at the same time, the brotherhood presents itself as a supporter for legitimacy in Yemen. This means that the brotherhood is indirectly supporting the Houthi militias.
The brotherhood has also been taking advantage of the humanitarian crises in Yemen, such as famines and epidemics.
Moreover, MB websites tend to launch campaigns against whoever supports the military alliance in Yemen; for example, an MB website published a report entitled ‘Secrets of S. Africa involvement in the war in Yemen.
The website also attacks the UAE; on Aug. 20, 2018, the website published a video under the title “A murder crime sponsored by UAE.”
In the same context, the website, Al-Mawqea Post, publishes opinion articles against the Arab alliance in Yemen, for example, it published an article by Yasin al-Tamimi that slanders Saudi Arabia for its role in Yemen, describing it as “unjustified.” So, if we put into consideration that this website gathers every opinion that is critical to Saudi Arabia and the Arab coalition, therefore, this would represent an indirect support to the Houthi militias.
Yemen Press website on the other hand, which is being run by the Houthis, declares the Yemeni army as the national army of Libya, however, it softly criticizes the Houthi existence, not even describing it as a “militia”, or mentioning its relation with Iran.
Also, Belqees satellite channel, owned by MB’s Tawwakol Karman, launches a campaign against the Arab coalition, describing it as “aggression” and broadcasting programs that hold the coalition accountable for the crises endured by Yemen.
Mareb Press, another MB-affiliated website, publishes reports that defame the coalition and claim that it brought destruction over Yemen and destabilized its system, despite the fact the the legitimate government of Abdrabbuh Mansur demanded the coalition to interfere.
Other MB channels, like Shabab, host individuals who oppose the existence of the Arab coalition in Yemen. Al Youm8 channel published a video entitled “Channels of Yemen’s brotherhood criticize Saudi Arabia,” hosting figures like karman and Khaled Al Ansi, who oppose the existence of the Saudi-led intervention in Yemen.
