The Fourth International Fatwa Conference: Renewing religious discourse and warning of abnormal ideas

The Fourth World Conference, organized by the General Secretariat of the Ifta Houses and Bodies of the World under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, started on Tuesday under the title of “Renewing Fatwas between Theory and Practice”. The three-day conference is attended by delegations from 73 countries worldwide.

At the opening of the conference, Dr. Shawki Allam, Mufti of the Republic, President of the Conference, said that the conference is a continuation of the blessed efforts in which all participated in the thought, time and effort, and resulted in work programs on the ground, projects and initiatives to organize and control the fatwa process as well as to carry out training programs in various languages.

During his speech on behalf of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Mohammed Mokhtar Gomaa announced the formation of an academy for the training of preachers from around the world during the opening of the 4th International Conference of the Houses of Fatwa.

The Minister of Waqfs, Gomaa, said: “The renewal of the fatwa is a must.” He stressed the need to avoid confusion between the pillars of religion and the changes that occur.

“We are in dire need to renew the curriculum of thinking, and the ministry is fully prepared to receive preachers and imams from anywhere in the world, based on the role of the Ministry of Waqfs.”

The Minister of Waqfs and Religious Affairs in Jerusalem, Youssef Adais, said: “Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Palestine, and the maximum is subjected to a fierce attack by the Zionist enemy.”

He stressed the role of the Conference in accelerating the process of reconciliation between the Palestinian factions, and ending the differences between them.
