Ever since the Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen launched ‘Operation Golden Spear’ to back legitimacy and encounter Houthi militias in Yemen, the terrorist Houthis have been experiencing a predicament of shortage in supplies, at the time the coalition is intensifying its attacks.
The Golden Speak operation allowed the coalition to take control over 107 islands across the Red Sea. A report by the Yemeni Central Statistical Organization said Iran used to smuggle equipment and weapons to the Houthi militias through these Islands.
By securing these islands, the coalition also managed to secure Bab-el-Mandeb straight, which connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden, and is considered one of the most important routes to global energy and oil trade.
The coalition launched Operation Golden Speak in January 2017, as aerial forces of the coalition managed to limit the spread of Houthis along the Red Sea.
The military campaigns also stopped arms smuggle into Yemen by taking control over ports of Mokha and Thobab and banning Iranian officers from entering Yemen through these parts.
Operation Golden Spear achieved more advancement after the murder of former president Ali Abdullah Saleh, who supported the Houthis, and as his nephew, Tareq, joined fight and formed a number of military squads, entitled “Guardians of the Republic”, after getting UAE’s support.
The Guardians of the Republic created a new reality through achieving a number of victories in a very short period, until the Coalition reached the outskirts of the strategic Hudaydah Port, which the Houthi militias sought to hold control over to protect their existence in the entire area.
Through a series of quick and short battles, launched by the Yemeni National Resistance Forces along with the Giants’ Brigades and the Tihama Resistance Brigades, legitimate forces took control over wide areas of Yemen’s western coast.
The Golden Spear operation also surrounded and hindered militias and a number of wounded Iranian officers from getting out of the country, therefore, the Houthis demanded not getting encountered while flying out of Yemen in order to release Saleh’s sons.
Member of the General People’s Congress, Ahmed al-Moksh, told The Reference in an interview that the Houthis managed to smuggle 18 Houthi terrorists and leaders, including Abdul-Malik al-Houthi’s brother, uncle and cousins, to Muscat and Iran.
The Coalition launched its wide scale military operations in Yemen in March 25, 2015 to support Yemen’s legitimacy and save the country from the Iranian scheme to dominate it through proxies represented in the Houthis.
