The Taliban group in Afghanistan has rejected the involvement of the group in last evening’s deadly suicide attack which targeted a gathering of religious scholars on the eve of Eid Milad (Birthday of Prophet Mohammad P.B.U.H), Khaama Press reported.
Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid issued a statement and said the group strongly condemns the attack in Oranus Hotel on the eve of Eid Milad that left a number of people dead, including some religious scholars.
Mujahid blamed ‘some vicious circles’ for the attack and claimed that the attack has links with some small tensions among the circles who do not hesitate in brutally murdering Muslims.
No individual or group has so far claimed responsibility behind the attack.
The security officials are saying at least 43 people have died and more than 80 others have sustained injuries in the attack but the public health officials are saying more than 50 people have been killed and at least 83 others have sustained injuries in the attack.
