The United States has been seeking to confront the Iranian regime through various means and mechanisms with an aim at curbing its devious influence and put an end to its interference in the affairs of neighboring countries through supporting terrorist militias, which target the destruction of Arab countries.
US President Donald Trump has decided not to renew waivers that allow eight countries to buy Iranian oil without facing Washington’s sanctions. The White House said in a statement issued last week that the US president would not reissue Significant Reduction Exceptions (SREs) when they expire in early May, a move aimed at bringing Iran’s oil exports to zero.
Iranian citizens have been affected by the economic situation in the country after 40 years of the Iranian revolution. This includes a deterioration of infrastructure, which was evident during the recent Iranian floods, as well as the decline in the standard of living of individuals and their annual income.
This is due to the policy that the regime has been adopting to sow feud against all countries, starting from neighboring countries to regional and international countries, therefore, it supports terrorist militias in Arab countries such as the Houthis in Yemen and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
In spite of the economic crisis experienced by the Iranian people, their leaders appear to be living wealthy lives, this shows in the pictures their sons publish on social media, especially Instagram.
The US embassy in Baghdad said on Thursday that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has a fortune of $200 billion dollars and is overseeing a regime of corruption,
“Corruption is rife in all parts of the Iranian regime, starting at the top,” a fiery post on the embassy’s official page claimed.
“The possessions of the current supreme leader Ali Khamenei alone are estimated at $200 billion, while many people languish in poverty because of the dire economic situation in Iran after 40 years of rule by the mullahs,” the embassy post added.
Also, last year, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo launched a rhetorical assault on Iran’s leaders, comparing them to a “mafia” as he promised backing for Iranians unhappy with their government.
Although Tehran’s Supreme Leader lived in poverty during his childhood, according to his official website, how was he able to collect this fortune, this also raises many questions about the source of these funds.
