Qatar unifies Houthi-Brotherhood media discourse

Qatar, which is a major sponsor of terrorism, has unified the media discourse of the Houthi militias and Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen. A number of activists unveiled Doha’s financing the Yemeni Congregation for Reform and the Houthi militias.

Al-Lahza channel is one of Qatar’s mouthpieces for the promotion of terrorism in Yemen. Doha granted $8 million to the channel, which is run by Yemeni journalist Abed al-Mehzary.

Beirut-based Al-Masirah channel is run by Ibrahim al-Dailamy, who is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Yemeni political analyst Mohamed al-Homairy said the Houthi militias and the Muslim Brotherhood are the same.

“The Muslim Brotherhood and the Houthis use similar media discourse,” al-Homairy told THE REFERENCE.

For his part, Abdel Khabir Atallah, a professor of political science at the University of Assiut, told THE REFERENCE that the Houthi group and the Muslim Brotherhood are enemies of the Arab coalition, therefore they use similar media discourse.

“Qatar, like Turkey, is an enemy of all Arab countries because so it supports terrorist groups, including the Houthi militias and the Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen,” Atallah said.
