The Frenchman who staunchly defends the Brotherhood

In February this year, Muslim Brotherhood TV host Mohamed Nasser hosted Francois Deroche, a French national with sympathies to the Muslim Brotherhood on the al-Sharq channel which airs from Turkey

Deroche was on air to comment on death sentences handed a number of Brotherhood junior members who were found guilty of assassinating Egyptian prosecutor-general Hesham Barakat.

Deroche is the head of the National Association for Federal Doctors in France. His interviews with Brotherhood sponsored channels revealed his sympathy with the Brotherhood. They also unveiled his hatred of the Egyptian state and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

Deroche criticized the way Egypt treated the Muslim brotherhood on more than one occasion. He also lashed out at Arab governments that tagged the Brotherhood a “terrorist organization”.

Muslim Brotherhood media celebrated Deroche and turned him into a hero. They kept quoting him, especially in his praise of the Qatari regime. He turned into a regular host on the Muslim Brotherhood channel Mekamelin. Other Brotherhood sites interviewed and quoted him a lot.

Nonetheless, the man’s statements raised questions about the nature of his relationship with the Brotherhood. They also raised questions on the reasons why such a man would adopt these positions.

There is obscurity on the man’s business and the support he receives in maintaining the work of his society for the Rescue of Syrian Children. He also owns the rights group Justice and Rights without Borders.

Deroche usually issues statements in which he interferes in Egyptian affairs and calls for the release of people who had been found guilty by the courts.

He paid a visit to Qatar and called on the four countries fighting terrorism, namely the United Arab Emirates; Egypt; Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain to reconsider their boycott of Qatar. He also called on the same countries to compensate Qatari families negatively affected by the boycott.
