Al-Houthi terrorist organization in Yemen continued to violate the sanctity of the holy month of Ramadan and resumed for the second day in a row on Tuesday (May 7th) its heavy bombardment of the Tahiti and Hays districts in Hodeidah governorate, in addition to the mountainous area south of the province.
This comes after the militia bombed, on Saturday (May 6th), the positions of the joint forces and the brigades of the giants with mortars, heavy weapons of 23 caliber, B-10 missiles, medium arms of 12.7 caliber, and light machine guns.
According to Al-Arabiya, Abdulmalik al-Houthi, the leader of the terrorist militia, informed the Secretary-General’s envoy, Martin Griffith, of the need for new conditions in the Swedish agreement, so that his militia would accept its application on the ground, which is a serious retreat from the agreement and a new escalation against the Yemeni forces.
Among the conditions set by Houthi is the opening of Sanaa airport, the acceptance of the return of the body of the Minister of Interior Abdel Hakim Maori from Beirut to Sanaa. All of these conditions are not commensurate with the significant decline in the control of Houthi on the battlefield.
The Iranian-backed militias seem to want to derail the agreement, which requires that the port of Hodeidah, which it does not want to achieve, be disbanded. It also wants to exploit the agreement to cover its successive losses in Yemeni cities.
However, the Yemeni army and the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia did not leave the Houthi militia spoil the joy of the holy month for the Yemeni people, and worked to address them.
According to the Yemeni army website, on Tuesday (May 7th), the Popular Resistance, supported by the army forces, succeeded in achieving new victories against al-Houthi forces in al-Hmeikan area in Al-Bayda governorate in central Yemen.
The 26 September website affiliated to the Yemeni army, quoted the commander Abdo Ali al-Qadi, field commander in the 83rd artillery brigade, as saying that there are about 110 members of the militia coup who were killed in the army’s response to the Houthi attacks. Houthis tried to implement them in the areas of Qardha and Watta Central and Hamran Al-Qaz, Rishan, Al-Sabta, Al-Mabayadh, Al-Muntazah and the north of Qutaiba district, north of Al-Dalea.
The Stockholm Agreement was signed in Sweden on December 13, 2018, between the representatives of the Huthi militia and the Yemeni government, in the presence of Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations. It entailed the need of a complete cease-fire and the military withdrawal from the province of Hodeidah, which has not been committed by the Houthi militia so far.
