Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has exposed his bad intention about the Syrian crisis since the beginning of the war. Erdogan wanted to take advantage of the Syrian situation, exploiting terrorist groups to expand within its territory, laying out the foundation for his so-called new empire.
The Turkish regime led by the Justice and Development Party (AKP) has taken advantage of all international and regional opportunities to confront the Syrian regime.
The latest confrontation between Turkey and Syria took place at the UN mergency session, which was called by Germany, Belgium and Kuwait to tackle the situation in Idlib.
Turkey’s UN ambassador Feridun Sinirlioglu said: “The recent aggression of the regime might displace additional hundreds of thousands of people”.
Sinirlioglu pointed to one attack on a Turkish observation post May 4, in which he said two members of the Turkish Armed Forces were injured.
However, Syria’s UN ambassador Bashar Jaafari blamed the Turkish government for escalating the situation and humanitarian crisis in Idlib, accusing Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, formerly known as Al-Nusra Front, of taking advantage of the Turkish regime’s violation of the international agreements signed in this regard.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Wednesday decried the Turkish-backed Hayat Tahrir al-Sham for attacking the Russian Hmeymim Air Base in Syria.
