Terrorism and the Kurds: Erdogan’s plan to recover Istanbul

Turkish opposition newspapers expressed concern over the timing of statements by Interior Minister Suleiman Suwailo on the activities of the terrorist organizations in Turkey, saying that Istanbul has not witnessed terrorist attacks and bombings since 31 January 2016. That means that the people have been safe for two and a half years, saying: “We ask God to preserve the city of Istanbul.”

The Turkish minister said that Daesh organization has been active in Turkey in the last three years, but it is moving in a disguised way. He added that Turkey is fighting the PKK on the one hand, Daesh and on the other, which can be explained by the re-election of the Turkish president. Erdogan is seeking to win the city of Istanbul, through a speech using the Kurdish and Daesh scarecrow.

“All of our units and intelligence services are operating at their maximum strength. We must not allow room for destabilization and security. There are something’s that we declare and others that we do not declare, but our intelligence services and the security forces are conducting very strong campaigns. We see these moves clearly for about a year and a half. ”

The Pulse of Turkey website mentioned Sweileh’s statements about the unprecedented activity of Daesh in Turkey three years ago, and then said: “It appears that the regime of the alliance of Islamists and nationalists (the alliance of the Islamic Justice and Development Party and the National Movement Party) will employ once again the Daesh and PKK organizations to raise the number of national and Islamic votes.

The “Pulse of Turkey” recalled that the Daesh organization killed 34 Kurds in 2015 in the town of Saruj bordering the Syrian border, and then the “PKK” killed in the morning of this attack two policemen allegedly linked to Daesh, and then mutual attacks escalated between the parties under the pretext of combating terrorism.
