At least 15 members of the public uprising forces and civilians were killed in a Taliban attack on western Ghor province on Friday night, Tolo News quoted a member of Ghor Provincial Council as saying on Saturday.
The clash started after a group of Taliban militants attacked some security outposts in Poshta Noor village in Dawlatyar district of Ghor, said Hamidullah Motahid, member of Ghor Provincial Council.
He said that a tribal elder in the area and two others were wounded in the attack.
Abdulhaqi Khatibi, spokesman for Ghor province, confirmed the incident but said they have not received adequate information about the attack.
He added that government forces have been sent to the area.
